Club Background
The Bethnal Green "Sharks" Swimming Club was formed in 1962 by Councillors and Officers of the Old Bethnal Green Borough Council who recognised the need for a local swimming club.
The Club is a "Competitive" Swimming Club with sessions for learn to swim. improvers, squad and masters and whatever group you swim with, gives you full membership of the club activities.
The Club is managed by a Committee elected annually at the AGM, and all the coaching staff are fully qualified via the Amateur Swimming Association, and Royal Life Saving Society, have attendance at UK Sport Workshops and are Enhanced CRB checked.
Apart from competitive swimming the B.G.S.S.C. has a very full social calendar.
